First Lady Michelle Obama would be celebrating her last Christmas at the White House and on Friday she welcomed the Christmas tree to the Blue Room.
Since 1966 the official White House Christmas tree has been an annual tradition.
The tree was delivered atop a horse-drawn carriage with four-piece military band playing “O Christmas Tree.”
Michelle was joined by her nephews Austin and Aaron Robinson, first pets Bo and Sunny as well as Dave and Mary Vander Velden, of Oconto, Wisconsin, who had won national tree contest award.
With the arrival of Christmas Tree the White House volunteers will now be busy preparing the interior for holiday decoration.
Inspecting the tree Michelle said, “This is the easiest part of the holiday season.”
Thursday evening the Obama family will be lighting up the National Christmas Tree in a cremony hosted by Eva Longoria and to feature musical guests including Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.
