Gensol-Matrix consortium wins Rs 164 crore for first bio-hydrogen project

Gensol Engineering, a company known for its solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and electric mobility solutions, has teamed up with Matrix Gas & Renewables, a green hydrogen infrastructure developer and natural gas aggregator, to achieve something remarkable.

On Tuesday, they announced that their consortium has emerged as the lowest bidder for the EPC of India’s first biomass to green hydrogen project.

This ambitious Rs 164 crore project aims to set up a facility that processes 25 tonnes of bio-waste per day, producing 1 tonne of green hydrogen daily.

Gensol Engineering has strategically partnered with Westinghouse, USA, to use their patented pre-gasification plasma-induced radiant energy-based gasification system technology.

This technology has been successfully implemented in multiple plants around the world, making it a reliable choice for this groundbreaking project.

Anmol Singh Jaggi, Chairman and Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, shared his excitement, saying, “By converting bio-waste into hydrogen, we are addressing critical environmental challenges and making a significant contribution to the nation’s energy transition.

We are committed to executing this project with the highest standards of quality and efficiency that define Gensol.”

Both Gensol and Matrix are promoted by common stakeholders and plan to continue their collaboration in green hydrogen and its derivatives, including green steel and green ammonia.

They aim to leverage the unique strengths of each company to advance these initiatives.

Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, added,

This project is a good shift in energy portfolio of India as it demonstrates how energy from bio-waste can play a role in sustainable energy production.

In one sweep, Gensol and Matrix are not only managing the environmental problems but also providing solution for the green future by converting bio-waste into hydrogen.

The strategic partnership between Gensol and Matrix is a good example of how effective innovative cooperation allows addressing intricate problems in the sphere of the environment.

The integration of such professionals and focuses on quality and quick performance make them suitable to spearhead this novelty project.

In the process of transition to sustainable energy sources such as this one is instrumental in proving the efficiency and advantages of using green hydrogen.

Gensol and Matrix are leading the way for the future endeavours by proving that its possible to achieve so much with the help of proper tools and cooperation to save the planet from global warming.
